Grand Jour’s story began in 2019 when filmmaker and photographer Simon Bonneau relocated to Asheville, North Carolina from his home near Nantes, France.
Simon attended cinema school in Nantes with a focus in cinematography and soon after he began touring as a videographer and photographer with musicians. Aside from running Grand Jour, Simon also works on music videos, documentaries, brands identity, and street photography. You can see some of his other work here: www.simonbonneau.com
Grand Jour is French for “big day” and was started to document life’s big moments so that they may exist eternally as digital heirlooms. While the majority of our work encompasses weddings, we will capture any of your big days and are not bound by a specific formula or type of event. Whether it’s your wedding, a new addition to your family, or a legacy you want documentation of, we want to help.

When planning our wedding, finding a videographer was one of our top priorities. I searched for weeks to first, find someone within our budget, and second, who we believed could capture our wedding day in a way that we knew we would look back in the years to come and feel like we were reliving that day over again. Simon’s work is unlike any other wedding videographer I have seen. It is unique in that it really focuses on the true emotions of the day. The moments he captured were so personal and he did such a wonderful job of capturing our love and the special memories with our family and friends.
Simon was professional and helpful in the planning process, reaching out multiple times before our wedding day. We appreciated his hard work on our wedding day as he captured all the special moments without “getting in the way.” We have received SO many wonderful compliments and we truly could not be happier and would recommend Simon to anyone looking for a videographer!
